The mind is the cause of tremendous imbalance in the body. The
regular practice of yoga develops a pathway for the mind to
transcend the physical, mental and intellectual layers and provides
an avenue to experience our true nature of a peaceful mind and our
best health.
All too often mainstream yoga classes focus on poses that increase
strength and flexibility when there is so much more to yoga. By
bringing attention to our breath, we experience the existence of prãņa
(vital life force) and how our entire mind and body are both
positively or negatively affected by its flow.
Yoga provides a technology for discovering balance at all levels of
our being. |
|
Tibetan Yoga uses a balanced holistic combination of stretching, breathing
rhythms, Prãņa, (Sanskrit term for air,
breath, vitality, energy or wind), and ancient techniques which
can bring:
 |
Deeper Sleep |
 |
Release from Pain |
 |
Vitality |
As in Prãņayãma
Yoga, yogic breathing, can recharge the human body with energy and
thereby bring rejuvenation and longevity. Disconnecting from this
vital life energy is a primary factor in illness. The imbalance affects
us in every level of our being, but especially visible in the physical
level: the circulatory, respiratory, immune and digestive systems.
"If one practices "mind" yoga then he automatically practices
"energy" yoga. If the mind be disciplined, transformed, extended,
sharpened, illuminated, so also is one's vital energy¹."
A certain type of mind or mental activity is invariably accompanied by a
prãņa-corresponding character, such as
calm breathing - calm mind. Control of this prana through various breathing techniques can bring about numerous
beneficial changes for your mind and better health.
